Brigitte Arlé, RPYT, CLC, CEIM, has a background in dance and received her BFA from Alvin Ailey/ Fordham University. Her dedication to dance, anatomy, and the study of movement led her to become a full-time instructor. Brigitte is certified in therapeutic yoga, Thai yoga massage and prenatal TYM, integral yoga hatha, yin yoga, integral prenatal yoga, postnatal yoga, and yoga for labor and delivery. She is also certified in Pilates mat, apparatus, and prenatal and postnatal Pilates. Brigitte teaches private Pilates at her studio, Rooted Boston.
Because of her love of working with expectant and new mothers, Brigitte became a doula in 2010 and was certified by DONA International. She studied midwifery with Ina May Gaskin at the Farm in Tennessee. Brigitte is also a Certified Lactation Counselor, Certified Educator of Infant Massage, and has received several certificates for specialties in pelvic floor rehab. Witnessing women in labor, birth, and parenting her own two girls, has greatly influenced Brigitte’s approach to teaching.
A wife, mom, law grad, legal researcher, and yoga addict all rolled into one!
Janine Duffy discovered yoga upon entering law school more than 10 years ago. Since then, yoga has been there for her through the good times and the bad. Years of long hours as a law clerk at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston, as well as being a new mom to two little boys finally took its toll. It was during this tumultuous time as she transitioned to being a stay-at-home mom and battled post-partum depression that Janine found her way back to the mat. Not only did yoga help Janine regain her confidence, balance, and satisfaction in her new role, but it also had a positive effect on her son, James. She noticed a big difference in his attitude and alertness, which made her a believer that yoga was great for those of all ages—especially children! Shortly thereafter, Janine completed her children’s yoga training with Radiant Child Yoga and began teaching kids yoga classes.
Janine’s curiosity about the effects of yoga led her to a 200-hour yoga teacher training with Chanel Luck and Bonnie Argo. It was at the end of this training that she found herself pregnant once again. She noticed that practicing yoga while pregnant was fun, exciting, scary, and sad—every emotion a woman could have. Toward the end of her pregnancy, Janine became certified to teach prenatal yoga at Om Births.
Janine finds the most satisfaction helping women through this tremendous life-changing experience, and focuses on teaching prenatal as well as the post-partum, Mommy and Baby and toddler yoga classes. Her classes help new and expecting moms understand and adjust to the changes taking place in their bodies and minds. Janine’s classes focus on strength-building poses, pranayama, and meditation that are helpful not only on the mat, but also off! Being the mom of three boys, Janine can certainly attest to how yoga helps her throughout any given day!
Kristen loves using yoga as a tool to help students achieve personal transformation. She received her 200-hour vinyasa and her hot yoga certifications from Yoga to the People in NYC, and trained in prenatal yoga with Juliana Mitchell of Living Now Yoga, also in New York. As a prenatal teacher, she is honored to share space with women on the incredible journey of creating and giving birth. Kristen's classes offer alignment-based, breath-focused instruction, incorporating the dualities of structure/freedom and comfort/challenge. She also loves helping students integrate the lessons and wisdom of the yoga practice on a broader scale into a personal "practice of living." A lifelong health and wellness enthusiast, Sarah has over twenty years of experience teaching group and private fitness classes. For the past ten years she has been teaching various forms of mind body exercise throughout the Boston area, and has taught yoga internationally at Ashiyana Yoga Retreat Centre in Goa, India. Sarah’s 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certified Training is attributed to Rolf Gates and, currently, she is studying towards her 500 hour E- RYT certification at Prajna Yoga, with Tias and Surya Little. She has also studied with many other talented teachers throughout the United States and has, most recently obtained a Pre-Natal Yoga Certification with Jacci Gruninger through Pranakriya Yoga. Teaching pre-natal and infant-parent yoga has a special place in her heart right now as Sarah has recently become a mother to a beautiful baby girl.
Prenatal Yoga is geared toward expecting moms and will offer a safe yoga class during this time of tremendous change in the body.
