Tiffany Ely O'Connell

Tiffany has always been drawn to the expression of spirit through movement. At a young age it was through dance, which she made into a career but then “retired” at just twenty-three. She then found herself in the travel industry where, following a lay-off, Tiffany stumbled upon yoga in her local gym. What she found changed the course of her life. There was an emotional ease on the mat that Tiffany had never felt before. Her years of suffering from anxiety, eating disorders, and panic attacks all felt like they just dissipated. Years later, in 2009, Tiffany opened herself up to what yoga had to offer besides just the physical experience on the mat, and completed her first RYT certification at South Boston Yoga. In 2012 she continued her studies with Kelly Morris, the founder of Conquering Lion Yoga in New York City. Tiffany is also certified through ACE in Group Fitness and has been teaching in the health and wellness field since 2003. In her classes, Tiffany emphasizes breath and alignment along with one's instinctual expression, and encourages non-judgment while attempting to infuse some humor.
Tiffany is so grateful to all of her teachers and students, who inspire her teachings and remind her every day that she is and always will be both. Her hope is that students uncover yoga as more than just asana. Yoga cultivates an awareness of yourself as an individual being that is intimately connected to the universe, and the teachings you experience on the mat will permeate into the rest of your life off the mat ... and, of course, vice-versa.

Tiffany Ely O'Connell instructs the following:
  • Core Flow
  • Core Flow will restore and strengthen all muscles in the core. The class is suitable for all levels and will consist of breath work to engage deep abdominal muscles, yoga poses linked to breath which activate and condition the core, as well as deep stretching and strengthening of the muscles that work closely together with the core to achieve maximal benefit.

  • Vinyasa Yoga
  • Vinyasa Yoga is a vigorous yoga class that moves through poses with the pace of your breath. The class is designed for all levels with modifications offered to take the class at your own level and ability on any given day. The sequence of each class will build towards a challenging peak pose(s) to stimulate both the beginner and advanced practitioner as well as the kid at heart. This class will be sweaty and fun and will challenge students of all levels.

  • Root Down & Rise Up:
Exploring the Chakras through Asana and Beyond
    With Tiffany Ely O'Connell
Curious about the subtle body and those energetic “knots” that are referred to as chakras? Wondering why certain poses evoke certain emotional responses beyond the physical body? Then this is the workshop is for you!
There are seven chakras located along the pathway of the spine, each governing different aspects of our lives. Each session will be dedicated to balancing a specific chakra. Along with asana and discussion, expect chanting, and pranayama and/or meditation to free up any imbalances or blockages you might be experiencing, both consciously and unconsciously. Gain a better understanding of yourself and how you relate to the world around you through this exploratory journey of the chakra system.

    Friday, June 30 6:30-8:30 p.m.
    $40 (single session)
Located at the base of the spine and continuing down to the legs and feet, Muladhara regulates our connection to our physical needs and security. In this workshop, we will explore the areas that carry our feelings about stability, family, money, jobs, and home. To create a sense of grounding, sequencing will include a strong connection to both our pelvic floor and legs. All sales are final. Workshops are non-refundable.
    Sacral Chakra: Svadisthana
    Friday, July 28
    6:30-8:30 p.m.
    $40 (single session)
Residing at the pelvis, the sacral chakra is known as “one’s own abode.” This space rules creativity, emotions, sensuality, and desires. We will cultivate a healthy relationship to pleasure and emotions by balancing the energy residing in this area through fluid movement and deep hip opening. All sales are final. Workshops are non-refundable.
    Solar Plexus Chakra: Manipura
    Friday, August 25
    6:30-8:30 p.m.
    $40 (single session)
Self-love, self-acceptance, self worth … this is the chakra associated with your sense of SELF! When Manipura energy is deficient, we can feel insecure, unsupported, and insignificant. If, on the other hand, the energy is excessive, we tend to be selfish, egotistical, or overly reactive. Drop the externals you use to define yourself and instead reveal an inherent sense of empowerment while transforming inertia into action. All sales are final. Workshops are non-refundable.
    Heart Chakra – Anahata
    Friday, September 15
    6:30-8:30 p.m.
    $40 (single session)
The heart chakra is the center of the chakra system located at the mid-point between the lower and upper chakras. It involves the movement of love through your life. It is your connection to others through a sense of compassion, generosity, kindness, and respect. Love is a unifying force and fundamental in our relationship both to one another and ourselves. Don’t forget, our arms are an extension of this energetic space, so expect more than just your typical back-bending/heart-opening workshop. All sales are final. Workshops are non-refundable.
    Throat Chakra: Vishuddha
    Friday, October 20 7:30-9:30 p.m.
    $40 (single session)
This chakra is associated with expressing your truth as well as listening deeply to others. Do you keep your mouth shut more often than not? Or do you talk incessantly? It’s time to find your authentic voice beyond those limitations set by family, friends, or cultural conditioning. Use this workshop to expose what it is you need to say or hear in order to uncover the most authentic expression of yourself.
    Third Eye Chakra: Ajna
    Friday, November 17
    7:30-9:30 p.m.
    $40 (single session)
The third eye is our connection between the known and the unknown—it’s our intuition. We can easily get overwhelmed by our busy lives and often miss the signals that our body/mind send us when something is misaligned. Or do we hear/feel those signs but choose to ignore them? Expect a quieter Yin-style practice during which we will intuit our way to clearer thinking, seeing, and understanding.
    Crown Chakra: Sahasrara
    Friday, December 15 7:30-9:30 p.m.
    $40 (single session)
Located at the crown, the seventh chakra is our spiritual connection to the universe and the Divine. When we are aligned in this space, we feel a sense of union to the world around us. When misaligned, we may experience cynicism of the sacred or a sense of detachment from the body. Drop all worry and doubt and surrender to your higher self and through your efforts may you find peace and a deep sense of oneness to everyone and everything. (Familiarity with headstand is helpful, but not necessary for this session. Modifications will be offered.) All sales are final. Workshops are non-refundable.
