What do you do when not the friendly face behind the desk?
When I am not at CCY, you can find me working on my dissertation in coffee shops around the city, hiking in the White Mountains, or traveling around the world.
Where are you from and what brought you to Boston?
I am from Phoenix, Arizona and moved to Boston in 2013 to study Biostatistics in graduate school.
Fun fact about you?
Hmm, I think it is interesting that I am an eighth generation Arizona native (so way before AZ became a state), but what most people find interesting is that I won a car when I was 15 for perfect attendance my sophomore year of high school.
Latest Yoga breakthrough?
My latest yoga breakthrough is to listen to my body and down-level when needed. When I first started my yoga journey, I would take every opportunity to try challenging poses (arm balances, inversions, etc.) and I would be disappointed if the yoga class I attended did not offer these. However, over the years, I have learned there is much more to yoga than asana and I am grateful for this breakthrough. Don't get me wrong, I still love a challenging yoga class, but my mindset has shifted and I am a much happier person because of it.
Yoga is always the right choice.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of being behind the desk?
The most rewarding aspect of being behind the desk is being a part of the CCY community. It has been a huge blessing in Boston, my home away from home.
